I am thrilled to announce that House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi will join us on October 8 for the Women, Money, Power Summit at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC.
Leader Pelosi will be speaking at our luncheon, highlighting House Democrats’ economic agenda for women and families, When Women Succeed, America Succeeds, and paying tribute to Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, a champion for equal pay for women.
We will also be honoring Texas state Sen. Leticia Van de Putte, a courageous fighter for reproductive rights; and Barbara Arnwine, executive director of the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Under Law who is leading the charge for voters’ rights.
We’re living in turbulent times, full of challenge and promise. We’re honored that House Democratic Leader Pelosi will join us at this critical time as we come together to exchange ideas and maximize our strengths.
Our General Assembly Sessions throughout the day will focus on stopping the War on Women’s health, improving global reproductive family planning policies, ending violence against women and implementing the Affordable Care Act! We’ll also discuss new strategies to ratify both CEDAW and the Equal Rights Amendment.
You’ll be hearing from some amazing feminist lawmakers, activists and leaders, like Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, chief sponsor of the Equal Rights Amendment; Terry O’Neill, President of the National Organization for Women; Melanie Campbell, President and CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation; and Katherine Spillar, Executive Editor of Ms. magazine.
