ELECTION RESULTS: Terry McAuliffe and Ralph Northam both beat their Republican counterparts on Nov. 5. The Attorney General race was too close to call and a recount was issued. On Dec. 18, Republican Mark Obenshain conceded the race and Democrat Mark Herring was named the next Attorney General.

Feminist Majority is proud to support the Democratic ticket of Terry McAuliffe for governor, Ralph Northam for lieutenant governor, and Mark Herring for attorney general. We oppose the extreme anti-women’s rights Republican ticket of Ken Cuccinelli, Bishop E.W. Jackson and Mark Obenshain.

The Virginia Republican “Tea Party” for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general is dangerous for women’s rights and health. It is by far one of the most extreme statewide political teams running against reproductive rights, equal pay, violence against women prevention, gun control, LGBT rights, immigration reform and access to affordable healthcare.
