Washington, D.C. — The Feminist Majority is co-hosting a bus send off at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20 at the U.S. Capitol Building, Senate Swamp, Washington, D.C. The bus is headed to Seneca Falls, New York, to celebrate 100 years since the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was introduced.

Virginia NOW president Lisa Sales organized the bus campaign and Ms. art director Brandi Phipps designed the wrap. FMF president Ellie Smeal will join Sales, NOW Vice President Bear Atwood, and other feminists on the “Party for the ERA” bus to the convention.

To kick off their journey, members of Congress and nearly 20 organizations will attend a press conference at the Capitol. They represent eight NOW chapters; AAUW-VA; Clearing House for Women’s Issues; ERA Coalition; Feminist Majority; The Fund for Women’s Equality; Generation Ratify; Virginia League of Women Voters; Ms. Magazine; and Zonta Club of Fairfax.
