H. CON. RES. 34 – The Ryan Budget for 2013
Feminist Majority Supported a NAY Vote
The proposed FY2013 budget introduced by Representative Paul Ryan, similar to the 2012 Ryan Budget proposal, recommended drastic changes in Medicare and Medicaid essentially eliminating these critical programs. Deep cuts were also included in Head Start, job training, Pell grants, nutrition programs and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF). Ryan’s proposed budget would also increase military spending and cut taxes for the wealthy.
The House passed the FY2013 Ryan Budget; the Senate voted not to proceed to bring the Ryan Budget to the floor for a vote.
