It’s been five months since President Obama nominated Loretta Lynch to be our next U.S. Attorney General. Loretta Lynch is not only superbly qualified, she would make history as the first African-American woman to serve in this position. But, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has so far refused to schedule a vote on her nomination.

Tell McConnell and your senators it’s time to stop playing politics — vote to confirm Loretta Lynch!

Currently the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Loretta Lynch has an exceptional record of public service and has shown deep commitment to civil rights and human rights. We must act now to urge confirmation of this outstanding nominee.

Ms. Lynch has prosecuted vicious hate crimes and has fought tirelessly against police brutality. She was the leading prosecutor of the NYPD officers who brutally beat and sodomized Haitian immigrant Abner Louima. Ms. Lynch has also been at the forefront of the fight against human trafficking. Her office has indicted over 55 defendants in sex-trafficking cases and helped over 100 victims of sex trafficking.

Tell Sen. McConnell to end this unjust delay. No other nominee for attorney general has been kept in limbo for so long. Loretta Lynch has broad support from women’s rights groups, civil rights groups, law enforcement, and bar associations. She deserves the respect of a vote.
