End Child Marriage in CA

California has one of the highest child marriage rates in the country. We rank just behind West Virginia, Texas, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, tied with Tennessee for the sixth highest number of teens married per capita! A recent Pew Research Center study found that, in California, 5.5 of 15- to 17-year-olds per thousand reported being married. Within the past few months, Virginia, New York, and Texas have enacted meaningful protections for kids and today, here at the Feminist Majority, we are pushing for meaningful reform in California.
